I began my journey in fashion and design, my sewing machine was everything to me. Back then, I created Irish Dancing Costumes. I embroidered celtic legends with metallic threads onto vibrant satin and velvet dresses. Years later, I visited a Glass Festival in Stourbridge and Oh my goodness..........the amazing colours of glass and dichroics sang to my soul and still do. I began in a short taster workshop, making a dichroic pendant and never looked back. I've attended many courses that have become a catalyst to pushing boundaries as I explore my many ideas and designs, making each piece unique. My main technique is fusing glass, which involves hand cutting sheets of glass and fusing(melting) them together at various temperatures. Each piece usually requires three or four firings. However, other techniques come into play; These are: Pulling glass(In a vitragraph kiln). Many of these methods are used within my pieces, to create colour, texture and design. I love exploring the science within the glass, so many chemicals blend and react within the kin. I will always continue to learn and push the boundaries within this medium and will always find infinite possibilities so fascinating, and opening the kiln so exciting.
