Each piece undergoes an intensive 27-hour kiln fusion process, transforming carefully assembled materials into cohesive artworks. Her bespoke creations range from intimate curved forms and compact tiles to expansive wall installations, designed to enhance residential interiors and architectural installations with sophisticated, handmade character.

Emma Wood

Meet the artist — Emma Wood

Emma uses kiln-formed glass to produce bold designs depicting nostalgic urban landscapes, sunny seaside scenes, colourful floral meadows and contemporary abstract designs. Emma’s work employs a wide range of carefully chosen colours and textures, combined with the light specific qualities of glass, resulting in fused panels of striking beauty and detail. Each picture is created using inclusions of enamel and metals which are meticulously layered between two sheets of glass. On the surface, coloured glass and frits (glass granules), build up the image further. The artwork is then transferred to the kiln and fused for 27 hours. Glass art can be used in kitchens (including splashbacks), bathrooms and conservatories as it is not affected by humidity or light, making it an extremely versatile way to bring art into your home.
