The process of crafting Blandines artwork begins with simple sketches and models which serve as gestural notes and references. As the idea is developed, specific aspects are emphasized and refined. The pieces are then meticulously formed using either Stoneware or Porcelain through slabbing and pinching techniques without taking any shortcuts. Every millimeter of the surface is carefully examined, worked on, and reworked to achieve the desired effects. The finishing touches include small, detailed sprigs and stamps for added texture and decoration. Porcelain slips are applied using stenciling and painting techniques onto the greenware, while oxides and glazes are added after the first firing at 1245ºC. For the final result, a third firing is conducted, incorporating onglaze enamel and/or metallic lustre to further enhance the sophistication of the surfaces.
