About the artist

Louise O'Connor

Meet the artist — Louise O'Connor

Louise creates individually sculpted and hand-painted ceramic animal sculptures, each with its own distinctive character and personality. Having worked with clay for many years, Louise builds each piece predominantly by hand, using only a small number of tools to help shape and refine the form. Once sculpted, the work is fired before being carefully decorated with oxides, glazes and slips, then fired again to stoneware. She works with high-quality Earthstone clays, chosen for their strength and finish.
