Join us for an inspiring day of creativity at Artifex Gallery, where you’ll be guided by the award winning animal/wildlife artist Wendy Darker in painting your own Highland Cow study to take home. Surrounded by beautiful artworks in an art gallery space, you’ll have the perfect atmosphere to ignite your imagination and explore new artistic techniques.
Wendy has hosted workshops for many years. Her work is characterized by the close cropping and intimacy of her animal portraits, who often present an inquisitive pose to the viewer.
What to Expect
Exclusive Demonstrations with Plenty of One to One Tuition
The workshop will be taught using a series of demonstrations and one to one tuition. Wendy will guide you through a range of painting techniques and methods.
Study Techniques, Texture and Colour
This workshop will be focussing on how to create your own study of a Highland Cow. During the day, participants will be shown various methods and techniques that can be used to achieve a loose but realistic painting of the Highland Cow. The aim will be to have a completed canvas by the end of the workshop, which can be proudly hung on the wall at home.
Be Inspired by Stunning Animal Portraits
Printed Highland Cow pictures for each participant and some of Wendy’s own animal paintings will be provided for inspiration.
You will be part of a group of 14
Time & Location: 10.00am (arrive at 9.30am) until 4.00pm; upstairs at Artifex Gallery (please note, unfortunately there is no wheelchair access).
Price: £115 - all materials will be provided to use on the day; this includes an A3 sized stretched canvas, primed and ready to use; acrylic paints; use of a wide selection of quality brushes and pencils; palettes and associated materials.
