About the artist

Julie Langan

Meet the artist — Julie Langan

Julie Langan graduated in 1997 with a First Class Honours Degree specialising in glass and jewellery design. Later in the same year Julie was awarded the David Canter Memorial Prize for glass which enabled her to set up and establish her first studio-workshop in which she now produces her glass pieces. The basic principle behind all Julies work is the fusion and manipulation of metals, enamels and oxides between multiple layers of glass. The forms produced contain a fluid elegance and the process employed during production ensures that each piece is individual and unique. The range of glassware that Julie produces includes decorative bowls, platters, mirrors, wall panels and architectural pieces.
