Carl Longworth, an exceptionally talented young British sculptor, creates exquisite bronzes of wildlife. Fascinated by the sheer variety of birds and animals that Britain has to offer he goes straight to the heart of the unique qualities of each subject. He captures the essence, the beauty of the wild in each carefully sculpted piece. See for yourself the intensity of gaze of the "Twilight Owl", the delicacy and fagility of the "Tufted Titmus" or the expectant hope of the dog "Mr Darcy". His work is influenced by his early interest in figurative form, showing perceptive attention to muscle tone, posture and expression in his subjects. From his workshop in the Peak District he firstly models his natural history subjects in wax or clay, skillfully building detail and creative lines that make each piece entirely and beautifully unique. Then, through the magic that is bronze and the painstaking process of creating patination, texture and colour he captures even further wonderful and unforgettable images of the natural form found in our diverse countryside
